Terms of Service
Version 0.1.0 · Last updated: 2026-XX-XX
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Certified Coach (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Certified Coach Ltd (company number 00000000), registered at TBD.
2. Service description
Certified Coach is a trust and coordination platform for the sports coaching ecosystem. The Platform enables:
- Coaches to maintain a verified professional profile and share their credentials
- Organisations (academies, clubs, governing bodies) to issue, manage, and revoke coaching certificates
- Players and the public to discover coaches and verify their qualifications
- Booking and payment for coaching sessions (future feature)
3. Platform role and limitations
Certified Coach is a trust broker, not a regulator.
The Platform republishes certification information provided by issuing organisations. It does not independently verify the competence, skills, or character of any coach. The Platform does not:
- Attest to the accuracy of certificates beyond what the issuing organisation has provided
- Guarantee the quality of coaching services
- Act as an employer, agent, or partner of any coach or organisation
- Replace the regulatory functions of governing bodies (e.g. the LTA, FA, UK Coaching)
Users should exercise their own judgement and conduct appropriate due diligence when engaging with coaches or organisations found through the Platform.
4. User accounts and responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and current information when creating an account
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Coach obligations
If you use the Platform as a coach, you agree to:
- Provide accurate profile information, including your real name and qualifications
- Not claim credentials you do not hold
- Keep your profile current and update it when qualifications change
- Comply with all applicable laws, including safeguarding requirements
- Maintain appropriate insurance for your coaching activities (the Platform does not provide insurance)
6. Organisation obligations
If you use the Platform as an organisation (academy, club, or governing body), you agree to:
- Issue certificates only for qualifications genuinely awarded
- Revoke certificates promptly when qualifications are no longer valid
- Maintain accurate records of awarded and revoked certificates
- Comply with the Data Processing Addendum where you act as a data controller for certificate data
- Not use the Platform to discriminate against coaches unlawfully
7. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Certified Coach Ltd. You retain ownership of any content you provide (profile information, organisation details).
By using the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display your public profile information and certificate data for the purpose of operating the service (including public verification pages and search results).
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We are not liable for decisions made based on information displayed on the Platform, including certificate verification results
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or GBP 100, whichever is greater)
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, subject to reasonable notice where practicable.
On termination, your account data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Certificate records may be retained as trust artefacts even after account closure.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@certified-coach.com to attempt an informal resolution.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
